Rick & Wendy Smith live on a farm near Viking, MN. They love the Lord and doing ministry at their farm. They have horses, chickens and raise toy and miniature Australian shepherds. They love helping people find the freedom they have found in the “Son”, Jesus Christ and when you purchase a much-loved puppy from them, you are also donating to Son Shine Farm Refuge ministry.

Son shine farms is so much more than a breeding facility, it is a refuge. This is a place where people come to heal, to learn coping skills, to be loved by people, horses, dogs and to learn the love of Jesus. We truly love our puppies as if they’re family. If you choose to purchase from Son Shine Farm your puppy will come home to you having already been loved by those that need love, that are hurting and struggling with hard things in life. Your puppy will have already gotten to be a blessing to someone. Then we get to bless you.

We have chosen to stick with Aussies and not mix breeds because of our love for the Aussie. We love their looks, their personalities, how incredibly smart and athletic they are, and we do not want to mix that with another breed. They truly do not shed a lot if they are groomed and bathed other than the 2 times a year when they shed. I find a little tuft of hair on the floor now and then, but very minimal. That does not mean, however that if you have allergies that you won’t have a problem, but we will work with our customers if there is an issue and we will remedy what is best for you and the puppy. Size and Weights below are estimates. We are breeding Toy Aussies and miniature Aussies. We go by the size of the sire and dam to estimate the size that the puppies will be, but that is only an estimate. They can end up smaller or larger.

Toy – these puppies could mature between 10-20 pounds and 10 to 14 inches tall.
Mini – these puppies could mature between 15-30 pounds and 14 to 18 inches tall.
Standard – these puppies could mature between 30-70 pounds and over 18 inches tall.

Why should I choose you?
During their eight weeks with us, they spend lots of time with their moms, littermates, and us. They’re taught proper socialization skills as they play and tumble with their mom and siblings. They have around-the-clock care from us to make sure they grow up healthy and strong before they make their way to their forever home. They are loved, handled, exposed to noises and other stimulation right from the very beginning.
